++Frequently Asked Questions++

I hope to answer some of the most common questions i receive here, so please check first and see if the info you want can be found here, you wouldn't believe how much email i get per day, and it helps keep me sane ! ( -ish !)

Can I use / modify your images into sig tags, psp groups, myspace graphics/websets etc?

Only if you buy a license and follow the terms of use here: http://www.gorjussart.com  It's illegal to tube any of my images yourself, or share them freely around the internet - dont do it!

So can I tell people about you in my blog? Can I not add pictures?
You are welcome (and thank you!) for telling your blog viewers about me, if it's for a blog entry, please use my watermarked images for this, but please no more than two or three pictures and dont forget to  include a link so they can find me !

Where can I buy prints?

You can buy prints either directly from myself ( I sell  them at http://www.gorjussart.com and  gorjuss.etsy.com !) or there is a list of other stores ( even online stores) that stock my prints on the 'where to buy things' page - the button can be found to the right of this page !

I've seen a painting in your gallery - but cant find a print - can you help?

Yes, I might be able to - send me an email, and include it's title ( if known) and a short description of it - I'll check up and see if there are any prints of it still available ( please note some older prints have now been discontinued !)

How are the prints made?
We believe the quality of our prints are truly unbeatable, they are printed on a Canon IPF6100 12 ink large format (24") printer, these are sometimes referred to as 'Giclee' printers. The prints will last over 100 years without fading !  Each print is trimmed and placed in a clear acid free archival qualty bag (meaning it wont damage the print!) ..

The printer is probably the MOST environmentally friendly printer on the market today, it hardly uses any energy, doesnt release ANY harmful gasses and we use eco-friendly papers and recycle all 'off cuts' .. on top of this, the inks (and cartridges) are completely safe too!

Becuase we handle the prints 'in-house' we keep the quality extremely high, and the price low .. and of course can offer custom sizes  of any print you need !

I really want to own an original painting, what's available ?
If you are interested in what is available, just drop me an email and I'll send you an up to date list of what is available.  Feel free to check with the Galleries in the Stockists page, or in the Exhbiition page too!

Do you make personal appearances? Can I meet you ?
I make occasional appearances, all of which are listed in the 'Exhibitions' page.. upcoming exhibitions / appearances are listed in bold text, at the top of the list.. I try and have a few exhibitions every year, but if you want to have more of a chance of meeting me, why not reccomend me to a gallery owner near you?!

Do you answer all your emails youself?
No, I answer as many as I can, when I have time, but my husband Grant handles a lot of my emails etc for me, he's a valuable part of the gorjuss 'team' and also deals with a lot of the day-to-day running of the gorjuss ART shop - this leaves me more time to paint etc !

Do you have a MySpace? Can I add you as a friend?

Yes I have a MySpace account- you can find it here: www.myspace.com/suzannewoolcott - You are welcome to add me as a friend - but I'm not very active over there, I do drop in about once a month to approve friends and answer any comments tho ! The most active community I am in is DeviantART - where you can find me at www.gorjuss.deviantart.com  if you add me to your friends list there, then you will receive updates of my newest paintings and my latest news too.

As a general rule - I don't do these sites much.. keep an eye on the official news here: http://www.gorjuss.co.uk/blog

Can I Interview You For my Blog/website etc?

Yes I love interviews, but please keep your questions very specific, I'm not very good with words, and sometimes I just don't know what to say. so just keep your questions clear and concise !

Can I come and visit you to interview you in person?

No. I don't do personal or phone  interviews, I need to be able to read the questions over and over and think of my answers.. as I said above - I'm not good with words !

I found someone using your work illegally, do you care?
Of course I do, all illegal use ( or suspected illegal use !) should be reported to: copyright@gorjussart.com   All reports are confidential !

What software do you use for your paintings?

I usually draw the girls in ink on  paper first (the only true original) and colour in Photoshop.  The originals are usually around 8 x 10" in size, in black ink on white paper, if there's an original you might be interested in drop us an email, we dont always get the time to list these drawings for sale!

What do you use for your traditional paintings?

Acrylics on canvas mainly, but I like to work with water soluble inks and pens too ( on Bristol board )- all my sketches are done in pen, I never sketch in pencil !

Can I use your art for a tattoo?

Yes, and I don't charge for this either - if you like it THAT much -you can use it as a tattoo free of charge !

Don't forget to send me a photo of it - I love to see them!  (check out the fan page for other peoples gorjuss tattoo pics!)

When will you release a new pack of images for PSP'ers?

You never have to wait long for a new pack - I paint every day, and as such, produce a whole lotta art ! You can see the new paintings being added to the digital gallery a few times every week, so keep an eye on it ( and my blog for updates!)!

Will you come and take part in our group chat?

Not in chat rooms, I'm not a great 'chatty' person and feel uncomfortable in chatrooms, feel free to email me and/or do a informal written interview instead tho!

Will  You Join Our MSN group and let us show you our tags?
I just don't have time !!.. lots of groups want me to join and get to know me better, but I'm afraid it really doesn't help as I rarely chat, so I may join but I'd likely end up lurking and not saying anything ! LOL!

Why don't you write a book?!
I'm not a writer...

Will you illustrate my book for me?

Not unless:
a. You are a publisher willing to pay me for it
or.
b. You are the writer willing to pay me upfront for it.
No freebies, no illustrating while you think about how it might get published etc.. find a publisher, then ask them to contact Santoro please! ( details onthe contact page!)

Can you add a link to me in you LINKS page?

I try to only link to artist friends or artists I admire greatly, my links page, I think is quite an interesting place, where people who like my art, will probably find other artists that interest them too ! If you really think I will love your art then send me your website address, and I'll have a look :)

Can you draw faces?

Yes.. when I Illustrate to someone else's needs, I can produce art that has faces.. but I choose to have faceless characters in my own art !

Ummm... so WHY no faces?

That's for you to work out !.. there's a lot of repetitive symbolism in the paintings, like the stripey scarves etc too... it would spoil the fun to write about it

I've drawn a fan-art - can i show it to you/is that okay?

yes, i love fan art, but if it's a copy of one of my paintings PLEASE mention me in the description, it's only polite ! Don't copy ALL of my paintings, and don't claim them as your own !  Send me a link to it, and i'll gladly comment etc.. if it's on DeviantART, then a link and special mention will be placed on my shout board with my other DevianART fan pics too !

I'm having trouble downloading/installing your Brushes, can you help?
No, that's what Google is for ! All brushes are working and tested thoroughly !

Can I offer your brushes to my visitors at my website?
No, they are free, so send them a link to MY website to download them... it's all I ask ! :)

I've seen your brushes somewhere else tho!
Occasionally different Photoshop magazines use them ( with permission) on their front cover CD's, you may have seen them there!
